VEON has announced about the appointment of Alexander Komarov to the position of the President of Kyivstar. The representatives of the Ukrainian operator has reported this information to AIN.UA.
He was temporary appointed to the position of the Acting President of Kyivstar in addition to his principal duties as the CEO of Beeline Kazakhstan this past July. Komarov is leaving his position in Beeline and will fully concentrate on the Ukrainian telecom operator.
VEON notes that the Manager succeeded to achieve sustainable income growth of Beeline and launch new digital services for the period of his management in the company. “Prior to his appointment, Alexander has gained a huge managerial experience. In Ukraine, Kyivstar is the national history of success, and I believe that the company will remain the leading mobile communication and internet services provider under Alexander’s leadership,” Ursula Burns, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of VEON, commented.
Komarov came to VEON five years ago. Earlier he was the General Director of the Ukrainian marketing company GroupM and took management positions in marketing and commercial functions of international and Ukrainian companies, according to the report.
“Ukraine is the place where I was born and embarked upon a career that is why I am very proud to come back to Kyivstar as the President on a regular basis. I am sure that Kyivstar will not only hold its leading positions but also establish new, high standards of innovations and clients servicing in future,” Komarov said.
Previously, Peter Chernyshov held the position of the President of Kyivstar.
He left the company this past July without giving any reason.
