Ukrainian startup LaMetric, known for its smart timepieces TIME, has opened pre-orders for its new product – Sky LED wall panels, which were first introduced in January of this year at CES. The company’s representatives shared this information with AIN.UA.

Sky panels have two functions – decorative and informative. First of all, they can be used as an element of the interior. LaMetric notes that the panels support 16 million shades of color, so they will fit into the design of any dwelling.

Sky panels are shaped as a regular triangle. The basic kit consists of 4 panels that accommodate 32 color zones. These triangles can be installed to form various shapes – angle to angle, side to side, and so on. The creators talk about “hundreds” of possible shapes that you can check out in the manual.

Prices for first buyers start at $172 for a basic kit.

Colors can be changed using a dedicated application. Also you can display images on the panels. Sky devices are controlled by touch or voice. One touch will change the color of the panel, and two touches will turn it off. You can do the same with Siri, Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant voice assistants.

The second function of Sky panels is to display information. If you have 16 panels, you can assemble yourself a screen that shows different data: time, weather, day of the week or number of subscribers in social networks. This is relevant not only for dwelling places, but also for offices: you can use Sky, for example, to display KPIs or business indicators.

LaMetric startup was founded in 2013. Its first product was TIME timepieces, which raised over $370,000 in crowdfunding. As co-founder of LaMetric, Nazar Bilous, told AIN.UA correspondent, that TIME is now sold in more than 20 countries of the world, and the company has already sold as many as 40,000 timepieces.

Currently, the startup team employs 17 people. The office is located in Lviv with production taking place in China. The startup is planning to bring the brand to the market of smart lighting, notes Bilous.
