wellabe, founded in 2018 by Michael Theodossiou and Sebastian Dunnebeil, is a cloud-based prevention platform designed for corporate health management. Using wellabe mobile laboratories, employers can provide workers with 15 minutes check-ups at the workplace, after which the system will offer personalised, data-based programmes that encourage employees healthier lifestyle. All insights about workers’ current health status are stored in a cloud platform and can be checked by them through the wellabe app.

As Theodossiou noted, the startup has already run more than 10,000 tests in the companies such as Deutsche Bahn, the insurance company Allianz and the automotive parts supplier ZF. “It is beneficial for employers because they have more loyal and healthier employees, and because they can see how health is improving in the company,” he maintained.

The startup is planning to invest the fresh funding into acquiring new clients and improving its digital prevention offers, such as nutritional advice. Additionally, wellabe wants to develop cooperation with health insurance companies and private insurers.
