Powercode, a Ukrainian IT company, has developed a landing page dedicated to providing information about the coronavirus for the Ministry of Health (MOH), and then – a project for the World Health Organization (WHO).

About the project for the MOH

As AIN.UA was told by the company, back during the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic, the owner and founder of Powercode, Vladyslav Savchenko, allocated funds to fight COVID-19. The idea was that the company would make a free IT solution for government agencies, which would help in such a situation. That could be a chatbot, a website, a mobile application, or a website.

The Ministry of Health was the first to respond – the company created a webpage for medical institutions with information about the coronavirus (how to diagnose it, how treatment protocols are updated, safety tips for health professionals, etc.). The website is still up and running.

About the project for the WHO

After the case with the landing page, the Ministry of Healthcare recommended the IT company to the WHO. This time, it was a commercial project for Powercode.

The company created an analytical service called PHRM (Regional Public Health Response Monitor), which collects and structures information about the pandemic in Ukraine. Regional reports are uploaded to the page, and it analyzes the medical personnel management system.

These are restricted data, available only to the WHO and the Ukrainian Public Health Center under the Ministry of Healthcare. Here are some examples of filters used in the service for statistical data analysis:

The company says that the main idea for the WHO service is to compare the current epidemic data.

“Previously, such information would be collected from different sources and compared manually: regional offices sent their researches as Word files and tables. Just one single region could send in from 20 to 60 pages of information, which was not accumulated in any way,” the company’s representatives explain.

The service allows to automatically compare the situation in different regions, analyze the availability of resources, funding, methods of communicating with medical personnel and the public, etc. The information can be sorted by regions and topics.
