Amazon Web Services (AWS) is close to acquiring DB Best Technologies, founded by Ukrainian entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley. The news was reported by Liga.net, citing its sources.

According to the source, the deal is in its final stage but has not yet been closed. After closing the deal, some of the Ukrainian engineers of DB Best Technologies will continue to be involved in the migration technology development at Amazon.

Amazon indirectly confirmed this data when asked by the news outlet, “AWS has been working with the DB Best Technologies team since 2015, helping customers migrate from legacy commercial databases to cloud-based alternatives. Together with the DB Best team, AWS will be able to accelerate database migration and provide a better experience for customers around the world.”

DB Best was founded by the Ukrainians Dmitry Balin and Iryna Balina in 2002 in Silicon Valley. The Ukrainian office was opened in 2004.

It employs about 500 people, and five out of its eight offices and most of the team are located in Ukraine (in Kyiv and Kharkiv). The company has offices in the US, the UK, Israel, and Poland. DB Best offers solutions for data management and migration of databases between platforms – Oracle, SAP, Amazon, Microsoft.
