The Vilnius-based edtech startup BitDegree has raised $1 million for its blockchain-powered educational platform Learnoverse. The Japan-based Mistletoe led the seed round, Tech.eu informs.

  • Founded in 2017 by Danielius Stasiulis, BitDegree offers online courses for students with clear and transparent blockchain-based scholarship system. The startup develops a metaverse-based platform called Learnoverse.
  • The platform offers a user-engaging way to learn about blockchain, crypto, and web3-related technologies, within a web3 technology. According to the company, the gamification model can increase motivation by implementing a Learn & Earn concept.
  • The $1 million seed funding was provided by Japan-based Mistletoe. The company provides learning opportunities for entrepreneurs and startups by investing in and building them into an entrepreneurial ecosystem.

“BitDegree has a powerful vision to attract more learners to the space via an immersive metaverse experience. Its more than 40 people strong team, experience, and a big existing user base are important factors that led us to this decision,”

Atsushi Taira from Mistletoe on the investment.
  • BidDegree will spend the funding to further develop and launch the Learnoverse platform.
