The Polish PFR Group has created a selection of the most significant VC investments in Polish startups in the first half of 2022. AIN.Capital publishes the list and provides the details of each funding round.

ICEYE, $136 million in Series D (February 2022)
- ICEYE is a Polish-Finnish spacetech startup that develops, builds, and operates a commercial constellation of synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) imaging satellites.
- Series D round was led by Seraphim Space, the world’s leading investor in the spacetech sector, with more than 50 spacetech companies in its portfolio. Polish OTB Ventures, the startups existing investor, also joined the fresh round.
- Previously, in September 2020, the company raised $84.7 million in a Series C round. In general, ICEYE has secured a total of $304 million in funding since its inception in 2015.
Silent Eight, $40m in Series B, (March 2022)
- The Polish-founded Silent Eight is a technology startup leveraging AI to create compliance platforms for the world’s leading financial institutions. Silent Eight is headquartered in Singapore and has offices in New York, London, and Warsaw.
- The round was led by TYH Ventures and welcomed HSBC Ventures, the firm’s latest customer to also become an investor. Polish fund OTB Ventures, Wavemaker Partners, SC Ventures, and Aglaia continued their investment from previous funding rounds.
- Silent Eight has raised $55m to date. The Series B round has quadrupled the company’s total value from its previous value in October 2020.
Tidio, $25 million in Series B (May 2022)
- Tidio develops a live-chat platform powered by chatbot solutions. It is aimed to help small businesses communicate with customers in a simplistic manner.
- Series B round was led by the growth-stage investment firm PeakSpan Capital with participation from Polish Inovo Venture Partners and InPost CEO Rafał Brzoska.
- In November 2019, Tidio raised almost $900,000 in Series A from the current investor Inovo Venture Partners. In total, the company has raised $26.8 million across several funding rounds.
Synerise, $23M million in Series B (May 2022)
- Synerise develops a no-code/low-code AI-first platform to help businessess manage their business processes.
- Carpathian Partners, a CEE-focused technology investment fund, led the Series B round.
- Synerise has raised a total of $42.3 million in funding over ten rounds.
Nomagic, $22 million in Series A (May 2022)
- Nomagic provides smart pick&place robotic solutions for order fulfillment in e-commerce warehouses.
- The US venture capital firm Khosla Ventures and early-stage VC Almaz Capital co-led the Series A round. European Investment Bank, with past backers Hoxton Ventures, Capnamic Ventures, DN Capital, and Manta Ray, also participated.
- In February 2020, Nomagic closed its previous seed round at $8.6 million. With the latest investment, the startup has raised a total of $30.6 million.
Stonly, $22 million in Series A (January 2022)
- Co-founded by the Pole Krzysztof Dąbrowski, Stonly is a Paris-based startup that provides a platform for companies to explain how their product works to customers, share knowledge with the team, describe workflows for projects, onboard new employees.
- The Series A round was led by Northzone, with participation from Accel and individual investors.
Talkin’ Things, $20 million in Series A (May 2022)
- Talkin’ Things is a Polish manufacturer of innovative radio-frequency identification tags. The company develops comprehensive IoT solutions that transform offline inventory goods into online data using RFID tags.
- Polish investment firm TDJ led the round. The existing investor Montis Capital participated.
Symmetrical.ai, $18.5 million in Series A (April 2022)
- Symmetrical.ai develops a solution that enables the automation of payroll processes through an API-first approach. Its platform offers tools designed to help employers access, analyze, and manage the salary data of domestic and international employees.
- Series A round was led by the US venture capital investment firm Target Global with participation from Global Founders Capital, Finch Capital, Partech, Market One Capital, and Inovo Venture Partners.
- Symmetrical.ai closed a $6.3 million seed round from Angel Invest in 2020. It also raised a €1.35 million pre-seed investment from the same investor in 2019.
Zowie, $14 million in Series A (May 2022)
- Zowie provides an AI-powered chatbot technology built for e-commerce teams that want to automate customer service and drive sales through it.
- The Series A round was led by Tiger Global. Gradient Ventures, 10xFounders, and Inovo Ventures also joined in the round, alongside a strategic investor Jack Altman, CEO at Lattice.
- Earlier in 2022, the company closed its $5 million seed funding. The current investors, Gradient Ventures, 10xFounders, and Inovo Ventures, participated in that round.
Omnipack, €7.5 million in a seed round (Q1 2022)
- Omnipack develops a platform that offers warehousing goods, packaging products, sending orders to customers, and handling returns, enabling businesses to manage logistic processes affordably.
- Omnipack is supported by business angels and early-stage Polish VC fund SMOK Ventures. The startup’s latest venture debt round was led by Flashpoint.
Neptune.ai, $8 million in Series A (April 2022)
- Neptune.ai develops a platform for machine learning engineers. Its product is a metadata repository built to help research and production teams to manage machine learning experiments.
- The leading investor is Almaz Capital, existing ones btov Partners, Rheingau Founders, and TDJ Pitango also participated.
- In 2020, Neptune.ai raised a $3 million Series A investment. In 2018, the startup closed a $1.7 million seed round. According to Crunchbase, it has raised $12.7 million in total.
