Eddy Travels, a Lithuanian AI-based travel assistant, has been acquired by a global travel product marketplace TripAdd. The companies do not disclose the amount of the strategic deal, that will facilitate hyper-consumer-centric practices in the industry, EU-Startups reports.

  • Founded in 2019 in Vilnius, Eddy Travels aims to make planning trips simpler, by finding the cheapest hotels and flights in seconds. Its travel assistant is a fully automatic chatbot designed for websites, mobile apps, blogs, and social messaging applications.

“At TripAdd, we were impressed with Eddy Travels’ team and technology from the first meeting. The technology talent pool in Lithuania is amazing, and we are especially keen to expand our R&D office in Vilnius,”

Gabriel Menkin, Co-founder and CEO at TripAdd, comments on the deal.
  • American company TripAdd joined forces with the Eddy Travels team to develop the marketplace further, and, to enhance the B2B Eddy AI chatbot services. It is a New York-based travel tech company offering a digital marketplace for all things about travel.
  • Earlier, Eddy Travels raised about €1.5 million to date from TechStars, Practica Capita, Open Circle Capital, and angel investors. It now has more than 400,000 users worldwide. It also provides white-label services for other travel businesses – a business function TripAdd wants to expand on.
  • The next step for the companies is to launch a marketplace with a number of international online travel agencies. They also want to expand of engineering and sales teams in Vilnius.
