Ukrainian venture capital fund TA Ventures participated in a $17 million round closed by a New York-based biotech startup Gameto. Global software investor Insight Partners, Future Ventures, Arcadia Investment Partners, Bold Capital Partners, Plum Alley, Myelin VC, Gaingels, Korify Capital, and other existing backers joined the funding.
- Gameto is a New York-based biotech startup using cell engineering to develop therapeutics for diseases of the female reproductive system. It was launched in 2021 by Dina Radenkovic, who serves as CEO, and Martin Varsavsky. The company also has an office in Madrid.
- According to Dealroom.co, it is the second investment of TA Ventures in Gameto. In January 2022, Ukrainian VC supported the biotech startup for the first time, participating in its $20 million Series A round. The new financing brings the total capital raised by Gameto since its inception to $40 million.
- Gameto will use the proceeds for its three sequenced programs development — Fertilo, Deovo, and Ameno. All of them are aimed to deal with female reproductive health problems.
