The Prague-based climate tech startup Woltair has raised €16.3 million in a Series A round to provide European consumers with sustainable energy solutions. Canadian VC ArcTern Ventures was a leading investor, Sifted.eu reports.
- Woltair was launched in 2018 by Daniel Helcl, Ing. Karel Naprstek, and Jiri Sveda. Woltair’s digital platform connects companies that install sustainable energy solutions, such as a heat pump or a solar panel, with their consumers. Preliminarily, the stratup’s tool analyzes the size and profile of a consumer’s home, and recommends the best technological solution.
- Since its launch, Woltair has served over 3,000 customers. The company claims that the platform will be especially useful in the nearest future, as Europe is looking for new energy sources that could replace Russian gas.
- The fresh round was led by Canadian sustainability fund ArcTern Ventures that invests in energy equipment, information technology, and artificial intelligence solutions. The US firm Westly Group and Czech investment group Aternus joined the round. The existing investors KAYA, Inven, and Polish fund Movens Capital also participated.
- The fresh funding will let Woltair to create a tool that help customers to track their energy use, and further develop an app for the installation service providers. The company also plans to establish operations in Italy and Germany by the end of 2022, having begun within the Czech Republic, and expanded into Poland.
