Lublin-based startup Navimed has secured €235,000 in funding from the Polish Scanderia Venture Fund project. The startup develops a micro-location system that uses artificial intelligence methods to become a kind of GPS inside medical buildings.
- Founded in 2022 by Maciej Michalski and Anna Mikos, Navimed develops an innovative micro-location system. The system will consist of dedicated beacons and proprietary computational intelligence algorithms. It will allow users to navigate through the premises.
- The system is especially helpful for medical buildings, in the case of people with disabilities or the elderly.
- Thanks to Navi.Med, it will also become possible to determine the number of people in the operational area of the system and detect them. This can increase knowledge in the field of security and facility management.
- Scanderia Venture provided the financing of €235,000 (PLN 1,091,000). It is a Bialystok-based venture capital firm that invests in pre-seed and seed projects in areas with very high growth potential. The investments are part of the BRIdge Alfa Program from The National Centre for Research and Development.
- January 3, 2022, the fund invested in Polish medtech NutriBox. The startup received €250k for its device for non-invasive diagnostics.
- The fresh funding will allow Navi.Med to further develop its micro-location system, as well as get ready for the launch.
