The Vienna-based VC fund Speedinvest led a €1.75 million round for Recyda, the Freiburg-based recyclability database startup. Recyda will use the fresh investment to further develop its solution for sustainable packaging data management.

  • Founded by Vivian Loftin, Anna Ziessow and Christian Knobloch in 2020, Recyda’s solution is a SaaS platform for businesses and brands to assess the recyclability of packaging based on international regulations. The tool allows brand owners, retailers, and packaging producers to align with country-specific requirements and optimize their impact to contribute to the circular economy.
  • The round was led by Austrian VC fund Speedinvest, with participation from Germans Auxxo Female Catalyst Fund and Futury Capital, and joined by angel investors. In the beginning of March, Speedinvest also led $2.8 million in seed round for Maqsad, Pakistan’s education technology provider.

“This funding round is a real milestone for us. We are pleased that several investors from different sectors directly recognize the added innovative value of our software and want to bring our product and our vision forward with their investment,”

Vivian Loftin, the co-founder said.
  • With the fresh funding, Recyda aims to focus on new international markets, product development, and hiring new talents.
