Krakow-based deeptech startup WIDMO Spectral Technologies has secured over €5.5 million from EU’s EIC Accelerator program. The funds will help with the development of the WIDMO Cities solution, subsurface scanning of entire cities, MamStartup reports.

  • WIDMO was founded in 2018 by Andrzej Kułak, Cezary Worek, Miroslaw Trześniowski, and Tomasz Trzesniowski. The company builds a unique solution for subsurface tomography based on spectral ground penetrating radar and advanced analytical software.
  • WIDMO cities are the newest solution in development. It is a revolutionary, non-invasive solution for cities, public service management companies, and companies in the construction industry. The solution scans entire cities using a spectral georadar based on SGPR technology. This allows to deliver geological information of unprecedented quality.

“Receiving funding from EIC Accelerator as the only company from Poland in this edition is a great source of pride for us and motivation to develop WIDMO Cities. The evaluation process for this prestigious program is extremely rigorous and thorough. The positive evaluation by the jury is a confirmation that our idea is truly groundbreaking and will bring huge benefits to cities in many areas,”

Mirosław Trześniowski, president of WIDMO Spectral Technologies, comments.
  • EIC Accelerator is a prestigious EU acceleration program that offers grants to startups and SMEs. The program awarded WIDMO with a grant of €2.06 million, as well as provided equity funding of around €3.5 million.
  • Thanks to the fresh funds, WIDMO plans to further develop WIDMO Cities, assuming the solution will become a global product.
