Polish startup Closer Music secures over $1M investment from Krzysztof Bajołek

Warsaw-based music database startup Closer Music has secured over $1 million (PLN 4 million) investment round from Krzysztof Bajołek, the founder and CEO of Answear.com, and his family. The fresh capital will help the startup achieve its goal of amplifying its impact and redefine the future of music, Closer Music shared on its LinkedIn page.

About Closer Music

  • Closer Music is working on a project aimed at creating high-quality music databases for use in various sectors, including advertising, direct music licensing, streaming, and public company usage. The core focus of Closer Music is its content.

  • The compositions and beats are produced in Poland, while the lyrics and vocal recordings are done in the USA. Arrangements, mixing, and mastering are all completed in the company's well-equipped recording studios.

  • According to the company’s website, the platform currently contains over 11,000 original commercial songs and 7,500 SFX special sound effects.

Investment details

  • The investors in this $1 million round are two family foundations, controlled by Krzysztof Bajołek (founder of brands such as House, Mohito and Answear.com) and his family.

  • This is the second big investment for Closer Music. In March 2023, the startup received over €1.3 million (PLN 6 million) in investments from Ekipa Investments and JR Holding. The funding was aimed at expanding the databases and getting new customers.

Closer Music will apply the raised funds for further development, in particular for marketing and promotional activities related mainly to the online channel. It will also increase sales force and new customer acquisition, and expand the online sales application.
