Polish startup Petsy, which has been on the market for more than two years, has recently raised more than €1 million in funding from business angels, as the company has informed AIN. Petsy's first funding round has enabled the company to expand its activities throughout Poland, strengthen its platform, and enter the Czech market.
About Petsy’s mission
-
Founded in 2020, Petsy, a popular pet sitting service, connects pet owners with professional, verified caretakers, offering a safe and reliable way to leave pets in trusted hands. This helps alleviate stress for both the animal and the owner.
-
Around eight million dogs and seven million cats live in Polish households, with pets becoming a full-fledged family member. Petsy became a leader in pet care services in its home country. It currently has more than 90,000 registered users, and its platform was used more than two thousand times in July alone. Petsy now operates in forty cities across Poland and four in the Czech Republic.
“We ensure the highest level of service and safety, which is why every pet sitter on our platform - of which there are now over 3,000 - has undergone a three-step verification process, including an interview with our animal behaviorist. This way, our clients can be confident that they are leaving their pets in good hands,” states Bartek Sobota, CGO and co-founder of Petsy.
-
Every petsitting service booked through the platform includes a complimentary Petsy Care package, consisting of liability insurance, veterinary aid, and behaviourist aid.
Investment details
Petsy’s first €1.1 million investment round, was supported by over 30 business angels, including Piotr Wawrysiuk, the founder of PsiBufet, and a group of private investors affiliated with Cobin Angels.
The fresh funding will help expand the company's position in the Polish market, refine the platform, and prepare for its global launch.
According to the founders, Michał Wojewoda and Bartek Sobota, they do not plan to slow down and are already working on the next funding round, which will allow them to grow their data science department and expand Petsy into the DACH region.
