Lithuanian edtech startup Alfa Space has raised €315,000 in a pre-seed investment round, led by business angels to develop math education through the use of technology. ArcticStartup reported the news.

  • Alfa Space is an edtech startup established after extensive research into global education trends and evolving student needs. Founded in 2021 by Paulius Serva, Emilija Platūkytė, Tomas Sipko, and Vilius Jastremskas, the startup aims to tackle the difficulties students face in teaching mathematics, a subject they often find challenging to engage with.
  • The startup’s website offers over 700 classes and 15,000 exercises that adjust to each student's specific learning speed. Alfa Space seeks to improve knowledge retention through the use of active learning approaches.
  • In addition to assisting students, the platform provides features to help teachers manage duties like class planning and homework tasks.
  • Launched in April 2024, the platform, initially designed for 12th-grade Lithuanian math exam preparation, now supports 5-12 graders with personalized AI-powered learning experiences.

With the help of capital raised from undisclosed business angels, Alfa Space hopes to contribute to improving math education in Lithuania by offering a more flexible and accessible learning environment. Alfa Space also plans to expand its international platform and customize it to cater to diverse educational system needs.
