Ukrainian startup InCharge One, founded in 2023 by Danylo Tonkopii (co-founder of Delfast electric bikes), has raised $450,000 investment from ZAS Ventures, which dedicated $50,000 from its own fund, and 500 Global, as well as an unnamed angel investor from the US. Tonkopii and Andriy Zinchuk, co-founder of ZAS Ventures, told AIN the details.

About InCharge One

  • Initially, InCharge One focused on charging systems for e-bikes, scooters and other small electric vehicles, but has since broadened its scope to include all electronic devices: smartphones, laptops, drones and more.

  • The company's product is called Socket to Pocket and works on the principle of paid access: the user presents the card to the socket, pays the required amount, and can charge their device.

  • The device can be installed in cafes, shops, clinics, waiting rooms, stadiums, airports and other places where visitors need to charge their devices. This allows business owners to monetise the points of sale.

Socket to Pocket comes in three versions: wall-mounted - installed on top of a regular socket, with an extension cord, and street - with an anti-vandal case. InCharge sells the devices itself and also receives a commission on each plugged socket.

The InCharge One product was developed in Los Angeles by a team of Ukrainian engineers led by Danylo Tonkopii. The design and some of the technical solutions were developed by the Ukrainian company ArtKB, which has an office in the Czech Republic.

Investments and Future Plans

  • The Ukrainian fund ZAS Ventures invested in InCharge One after meeting the team at CES 2024.

  • 500 Global (formerly 500 Startups), one of the largest accelerators in the US, invested in InCharge in the summer of 2023. InCharge One went through an acceleration programme in the same year.

  • A business angel participated in the financing of the project, but does not disclose its name.

  • InCharge One plans to launch a crowdfunding campaign on wefunder.com to raise additional funds to bring the product to market. Sales will start in California and then expand to the United States, Europe and other countries.
