Polish-British AI startup Wordware has raised $30 million in a seed investment round led by Spark Capital, marking one of Y Combinator’s largest initial investments to date. The startup has announced the news on its website

About Wordware

  • Filip Kozera and Robert Chandler, who studied artificial intelligence at the University of Cambridge, founded Wordware in 2023.
  • The startup develops a platform which enables users to create and deploy AI agents for business processes and automate repetitive tasks. It offers a repository system resembling "GitHub for AI" and integration with leading AI models from companies like OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic.
  • AI agents built on Wordware use English as a programming language, allowing users to build complex solutions without complex prompting. The company aims to balance advanced no-code editors with natural language prompt systems, connecting everyday users to AI models and tools.

“Until now assembling an AI meant building an entire engineering team, months of coding and days needed for each iteration. But that changes today. We’ve created something entirely new. Now English is the programming language; accessible for everyone, yet powerful enough to satisfy your CTO,” said Filip Kozera, one of the co-founders.

Investment details

  • The investors list included Silicon Valley leaders like Spark Capital and Felicis.
  • A number of Polish private investors such as Bartek Pucek, Tomasz and Piotr Karwatka, as well as the Innovation Nest fund, also participated in the financing round.
  • Global accelerator Y Combinator also supported the startup asone of its members.

With the fresh financing, Wordware intends to expand into international markets and boost its user base. In 2025, the company hopes to launch a new tool called Wordware Engine, which will allow individual users to automate their daily tasks.
