The further granting of the benefit was considered unreasonable. The same decision was taken for the citizens of Belarus. This is reported by Radio Svoboda.

  • Estonia exempted Ukrainians from the payment of state fee (visa application fee) in January 2010.
  • According to the ministers, today the privileges for the citizens of Ukraine and Belarus have created a situation of inequality in the Estonian labor market.
  • 90% of migrants come to the country to earn money. This brings down the already established labor rates in Estonia and deprives Estonians of their jobs. The decision was made in order to set equal terms for migrant workers and boost the coffers.
  • The state fee will be 80 euros, and from January 1, 2020, it will increase to 100 euros.
  • The decision applies only to the national D type visa for more than 90 days and up to one year.
  • The decision will come into force on 1 November 2019.

This information does not concern the citizens of Ukraine, who come to Estonia with a tourist visa.
