In May last year, Ukrainian game development company GSC Game World announced that it was working on the continuation of its legendary game – S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. There have been rumors about the second “stalker” for a long time, but now the first official information has appeared.

At the game development conference Games Gathering-2019, the company dedicated its stall to a new project completely: at the same time, part of the stall was designed exactly like a screensaver of the first game.

According to Zakhar Bocharov, the PR-manager of the company, there will be no loot boxes and no ‘royal battle’ mode in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.

“We are inspired by the original trilogy. I can’t talk about what kind of genre it will be, whether the game will have an online component or not, but the original trilogy is a good baseline,” he said.

It is also known that the game will definitely be released on the PC and that the company is developing it on its own. “All the rumors about our collaboration in this project with anyone are not true,” says Bocharov.

The company has not yet announced the date of release of the game, but they promise that it will be announced pretty soon.

It should be noted that recently Twitter users posted the trailer S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: it, like all the art pieces related to the game, is fake.

The first part of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. became a landmark project for the Ukrainian game developer. The company had been developing the first-person shooter in the scenery of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone for 7 years during the period from 2001 to 2007. After the release, the first part became a cult, and in 2010 the company announced a continuation, but in December of that year work on it was suspended.
