Ukrainian startup BIOsens won a grant of $100,000 for the development of its business in the Expo Live Innovation Impact Grant Programme of Expo 2020, as reported by the press service of Greencubator.
The organizers selected 120 winners from 65 countries, including the Ukrainian BIOsens, out of 6,900 companies registered in the program.
About BIOsens
At Expo 2020, BIOsens presented a mobile device for the rapid diagnosis of micro toxins in agricultural products. The device detects contamination in corn, feeding-stuffs, peanuts, etc.
The technology makes it possible to carry out diagnostics in the field and prevent the spread of the fungus, thus minimizing damage to the crop.
Application of the funds raised
Andrii Karpiuk, the founder and CEO of BIOsens, said that grantees are not restricted in the use of funds: it can be the purchase of consumables, and payment for participation in exhibitions, and payment of wages to employees.
He did not say how the startup plans to spend the grant.
