The developer of a payment system Pacific has raised more than $640,000 from Polish VC firm Aligo Venture Capital and private investor Tomasz Gołębiewski, the creator of the Semilac brand, MamStartup writes.
Established by Mateusz Klemczak, Pacific is working on the payment app for e-commerce and social media industry. It will allow users to buy and sell products without redirections on YouTube videos, Facebook posts, Instagram photos, and online stores via Smart QR codes. Scanning the code takes the user to a screen that enables selection of product variants and its purchase with one click.
As Pacific claims, the app makes it possible to sell products where it has not been possible before. Besides, the solution will also offer standard payment options, such as sending money to friends, using Pacific Mastercard payment cards, receiving cashback for online purchases and sending bank transfers.
The proceeds will be allocated to the further development of the app and integration with the key partners of Pacific – the Poznań University of Technology and the Poznań University of Economics and Business among others. This financial round will allow the startup to launch their app on the Polish market in the first half of 2021.
