The Payoneer payment platform conducted a study and found out how much Ukrainian IT companies in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Lviv, and Odesa earned on average in the first half of 2021 working with international markets.
According to Payoneer’s data, the average income of IT businesses from foreign clients rose by 29% for the year, the total enrollment — by 34%, the press service of Payoneer told AIN.UA.
By level of monthly income
- Kharkiv companies earned the most in January-June 2021 — their average monthly income was $1,570.
- Lviv came in second place with an average of $1,480 per month during the first half of 2021.
- The average income of IT companies in Odesa and Kyiv is almost the same, with a difference of 1% — $1,390 and $1,370 per month, respectively.
- At the bottom of the list of the largest Ukrainian cities is Dnipro. The average monthly income of IT business in this city is $1,340 — 2% less than in the capital.
Income growth for the year
At the same time, the highest growth of average income for the year is in Kyiv — 41% (from the first half of 2020 to the first half of 2021). Odesa is in second place, where local companies’ earnings grew by more than a third — by 36%. Kharkiv companies showed a 29% income growth. And Lviv and Dnipro close the top five cities — plus 21% and 20% respectively.
