Booksy, a Polish startup that develops wellness appointment booking app, has acquired its French competitor Kiute and its partner network of 10,000 beauty salons. The financial details of the deal are not disclosed. Acquisition of Kiute was completed in November this year, making Booksy the largest global provider of beauty and wellness booking and management software, MamStartup reports.
- Booksy develops a booking marketplace and software platform for digitizing the global beauty and wellness industry. It was launched in 2014 by Stefan Batory і Konrad Howard from Poland.
- Booksy has expanded to eight global markets since its inception — the US, the UK, France, Poland, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, and South Africa. Currently, its beauty booking app has 20 million active users.
- Kiute was founded in 2014 in Paris. It is the leading software provider for beauty and wellness salons in France, having its partner network of nearly 10,000 beauty parlors.
- Crunchbase states that Kiute has raised a total of €8.5 million in funding over two rounds before the acquisition.
- Kiute is Booksy’s fifth acquisition. Earlier, the company bought the Polish company Lavito in 2018, two American competitors — GoPanache and Versum in 2020, and Genbook in 2021.
“We are incredibly excited to expand in France through the acquisition of Kiute,” co-founder and CEO Stefan Batory tells MamStartup, hinting at further plans for strengthening Booksy’s global leadership position.
