The famous game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl has been officially postponed to December 8, 2022, according to the game’s official Twitter page.

As the Ukrainian studio GSC Game World explained, they need more time to “fulfill their vision” and “achieve the desired state of the game.”

The game will be released on PC and Xbox Series X|S.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is one of the most anticipated games of the year. The Ukrainian developers probably decided to hold off on the release to avoid the fans’ disappointment, like what happened with the Cyberpunk from the Polish studio CD Project Red.

Originally S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl was planned to be released on April 28, 2022. The delay means that fans have to wait for the game for seven more months. However, most users supported GSC Game World’s decision in replies to the tweet.

The Ukrainian game development company GSC Game World has announced that it started working on a sequel to its legendary game – S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 in May 2018. Now there are not many details about the game. Since the announcement, the studio has published several trailers and unveiled some information.
