EpicVR, a virtual reality technology and game developer, has signed a financing agreement with the National Center for Research and Development. Due to the deal, the Krakow-based company will get $1.2 million (5 million zloty) to create tools for metaverse, MamStartup reports.
- Founded in 2013, the company provides virtual and augmented reality solutions for global brands. It produces VR games, provides VR/AR training and marketing applications, and makes 360° films.
- EpicVR’s portfolio includes VR projects for companies like Procter & Gamble, FedEx, PGE, Mitsubishi Motors, and Arcelor Mittal. The company is currently working on a tool for metaverse that will make easier the implementation of multi-person solutions in VR projects. Its prototype is due to be built within two years.
- The National Centre for Research and Development is a Polish governmental agency established in 2007 for the implementation of tasks in the science and innovation policy industries. NCRD has already supported over 12,200 projects with nearly $15 billion (59 billion zloty).
“The tool can be used for entertainment purposes — playing multiplayer VR games, but also for educational or business purposes, taking part in training, events or meetings in virtual space,”
President of EpicVR Adrian Lapczynski shares the project details.
- Using the funds, EpicVR is going to release the VR adaptation of the game Builder Simulator, as well as to create its own game with sci-fi elements Reptile Park VR.
