DECATHLON, a French sporting goods retailer, has announced that it is suspending its work in Russia.
- The company has about 60 stores in Russia, all of them are suspending their work.
- The chain has been operating in Russia since 2006.
“In strict compliance with international sanctions, DECATHLON notes that the supply conditions are no longer met to continue its activity in Russia,” the company’s press release states.
However, the company will continue to support its 2,500 Russian teammates in accordance with the company’s commitments.
Also, DECATHLON is supporting its Ukrainian team. It has a solidarity unit based in Poland that distributes donations to Ukrainian volunteer organizations. The company has also set up a €1 million solidarity fund to support the affected Ukrainians.
