“Moscow” is on fire

The main military topic right now is the strike at the russian missile cruiser “Moscow” with “Neptune” missiles. On the night of April 13, it was reported that the cruiser was hit by two missiles. What happened next – everyone has their own versions.

  • The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine claims that the cruiser was hit by two Neptune missiles, which actually destroyed the ship and almost the entire team of 510 soldiers: about 10% remained. At the same time, a large fire broke out on the cruiser. Its complete elimination was not reported, but the Ukrainian side points out that the ship began to sink, and it was not possible to save it due to the storm.
  • The Russian Defense Ministry claims that the shells detonated, causing a fire on the ship. According to Russian officials, the ship remains afloat, and missile weapons are not damaged. More details were not disclosed, citing military secrecy. The Ministry of Defense also does not recognize that the ship was hit by Ukrainian Neptune missiles.
  • The Pentagon also has its own information. According to them, the ship did explode, which caused significant damage to the ship. It is not specified what caused the explosion – the Pentagon does not yet have clear verified information. The cruiser “Moscow” is badly damaged, but is on its way, the Americans say. According to them, his path lies in the direction of Sevastopol, where he will be repaired.

Neptune is a Ukrainian cruise missile manufactured by Luch. The missile was developed after 2015 in a short time just because of the threat of a full-scale war with russia. The missile was tested to destroy naval targets from land-based mobile complexes, but the program did not advance further: the development of the cruise missile naval and air-based missiles was postponed in 2019.

It will be recalled that this cruiser “Moscow” became the hero of the most famous military meme in Ukraine – “Russian warship, go f**k yourself”, when the defenders of Snake Island did not want to give up to russian soldiers. Some experts say that the cruiser “Moscow” may have had tactical nuclear missiles (less powerful than strategic ones).
