The Helsinki-based startup Helppy has secured a €3 million seed round to revolutionize elderly home care across Europe. Alliance Venture led the round, with Icebreaker.vc and several angels joining in, EU-Startups reports.

  • Founded in 2018 by Richard Nordström, Helppy develops a platform that redesigns the traditional home care model into a tech-empowered neighborhood model. It allows nurses and assistants to provide better care and better experience for seniors in need.
  • To date, the company has helped nearly a thousand families in Finland. It attracted over 5,000 nurses and personal assistants to offer their help to seniors.
  • Alliance Venture, a Nordic venture capital firm investing in exceptional early-stage tech companies, led the seed round. Previous investors Icebreaker.vc, CEO of Livi Johannes Schildt, and Wolt’s co-founder joined in the funding.
  • In October 2021, Helppy raised its first €425,000 pre-seed funding from Icebreaker.vc.
  • With the fresh funding, Helppy will now expand beyond Finland, taking its personalized care offering to families in need across Europe.
