Prague-based technology startup Superface has raised €2.6 million in a seed round led by Estonian Tera Ventures.

  • Founded in 2020 by Radek Novotny and Zdenek Nemec, Superface develops an AI-powered platform, which connects applications in a fraction of a second via APIs.
  • Superface claims that the platform helps developers to save both time and money on integrations, because it serves as an intermediary without charging fees to call APIs. The startup currently has a team of 14 senior developers.

“This year, we want to focus primarily on tuning the product for external integrations. Our ambition is to create the largest catalog of all public APIs — a kind of “Google of APIs.” Developers will be able to search through our database based on an API’s purpose, selected parameters, and their connection in a few clicks. Developers won’t have to do complicated searches for specific APIs in the documentation and perform many days of analysis,”

adds Zdenek Nemec, CTO and co-founder of Superface.
  • The fresh round was led by Estonian equity fund Tera Ventures, investing in early stage born-global digital startups from Baltics, Scandinavia and the CEE. New investors Caesar Ventures, Quantum Angels, Startup Istanbul, and existing investors 42CAP, and Tensor Ventures also participated in the funding.
  • The proceeds will help the company to focus on product-market fit and increase market traction. Surface also intends to hire up to 20 more developers next year and to build the world’s largest catalog of APIs.
