The Buharest-based foodtech startup FoodKit has received €1 million to accelerate the company’s growth. The initial investment was led by Vendavour Investment Fund.
- Founded in 2019 by Alexandru Popescu, Andrei Gigirtu, Dragos Christian Ionita, and Mihai Pisla, FoodKit is an online food delivery service intended to provide nutritious food. The company provides a new concept in the market, namely Fresh Ready Meals, due to the special vacuum technology used, which keeps food fresh for more than 7 days.
- FoodKit claims that clients can order and organize their lunch for a long period of time, that helps them to be much more productive.
“We are honored and motivated by the trust placed in us by Vendavour, and enter this new chapter of the FoodKit story with great enthusiasm. The 1 million Euro investment is an initial one, and it represents access to completely different growth resources than we had before now. For example, in 2023 we want to expand FoodKit to the Czech Republic”,
says Alexandru Popescu, co-founder of FoodKit.
- The fresh funding was led by the Czech Vendavour Investment Fund, that orients towards a sustainable future, with diversified investments in the area of medical technology and health, but also ecological housing.
- FoodKit will spend the fresh capital to expand the number of stores, and is planning to build a bigger factory to be able to meet the market demand.
