Polish venture capital firm Simpact Ventures has announced the closing of its second fund, aiming at projects with positive impact. The fund has over €21 million (100 million PLN) under management, dedicated to early-stage startups, mainly from CEE.
- Founded in 2017 by Jacek Ostrowski, Krzysztof Grochowski, and Wojciech Majewski, Simpact is a Warsaw-based venture capital fund. It mainly invests in tech-driven early-stage startups with high business potential and a positive social and environmental impact. The firm wishes to empower founders to build tech companies that combine profit with purpose.
- Fund II has over €21 million (100 million PLN) under management. It will provide sector agnostic investments with a preference for pre-seed, seed, and Series A investments (equity & convert). The tickets will range from nearly €100,000 (500,000 PLN) to over €2 million (10 million PLN), with strong follow-on strategy.
- European Investment Fund (EIF) backed Simpact’s Fund II along with a series of recognized and trustworthy investors. EIF is a financial institution for the provision of finance to SMEs, headquartered in Luxembourg. It provides finance through private banks and funds to support emerging and established fund managers with equity investments.
