IT company Dev.Pro laid off 100 employees in Ukraine. The company explained that they were forced to take such a step due to the loss of a regular client. AIN.Capital tells the details.

  • Dev.Pro is an IT outsourcing company with offices in Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv. The company also has offices in Poland, Portugal, Bulgaria, Brazil, the USA, and Kazakhstan. According to their website, Dev.Pro employs more than 900 people.
  • As AIN.Capital was informed by Dev.Pro, in November 2022 the company stopped cooperation with one of its customers. It is a fintech project with which they had been working for several years. According to the representative at Dev.Pro, the customer had a problem with financing — current and future, so they decided to stop the cooperation.

“As part of our cooperation at the beginning of the year, there were enough prerequisites to complete the next investment round and focus on customer needs and product development. However, this year is difficult for many companies and clients: the war in Ukraine, BCP planning, the global crisis, high inflation, and the economic downturn are forcing many investors and clients to make difficult decisions,”

Dev.Pro commented.
  • The company did not specify the exact number of people who were laid off. According to AIN.Capital, the number is about a hundred people. Dev.Pro did not deny this figure, but stated that some people from the project were transferred to the bench, and some — to other projects.

“Unfortunately, as an outsourcing company, we were not able to keep everyone and transfer them to other projects. However, we continue to look for new opportunities for our project specialists to invite them to come back to us when possible,”

Dev.Pro explains.
  • Dev.Pro assures that the situation will not affect other projects and people in these projects. The company continues to work on other projects and is currently working on attracting new ones. It is seeing slow but steady growth.

Dev.Pro is not the only company facing the consequences of the global recession and Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine. Earlier this week, it became known that major game developer Playtika cut 600 to 800 people from its total workforce. The layoffs will also affect Ukrainian offices, where about 100 people will lose their jobs.
