A model of the Ukrainian AN-225 Mriya aircraft will be added to the popular game Microsoft Flight Simulator. The only real copy of Mriya was destroyed during the attack of the Russian occupying forces on the Hostomel airport. Antonov company reported on Twitter.
Antonov company retweeted a post from iniBuilds, a studio that develops models for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The post states that the studio it is currently working on the AN-225 Mriya aircraft.
- Mriya will be a paid feature in the game and cost $19.99. The funds from sales are promised to be directed to the restoration of the real plane.
- In November 2022, it became known that the company Antonov is working on the restoration of Mriya: for this, both new parts and those that survived the Russian attack will be used. The cost of the project is estimated at €500 million.
- Microsoft Flight Simulator is one of the most popular flight simulators. The game has an exact virtual copy of the planet, with cities, villages, buildings. The game updates time and weather data all over the planet in real time: if you fly over your own house in the game, the view from the porthole will be approximately the same as from a real window.
