Bloomcoding is an edtech startup that offers an online after-school platform for children using AR and VR technologies. The company has raised €1 million from Credo Ventures, Inovo VC, and u.ventures to accelerate its presence in CEE markets and to develop the AR and VR-based curriculum, the Recursive informs.

  • Founded in 2021 by Emil Chichioi and Mihaela Kawinska, Bloomcoding provides after-school coding education for children 7–14 years old via its online platform. Children learn how to code by developing 3D experiences for VR and AR, in small 1:4 group classes.
  • Bloomcoding has offices in Moldova and Bulgaria with main markets in Romania, Bulgaria, and Poland, and reaches 1000 students monthly. The edtech startup has also won 3 major accelerators: Rubik Hub Accelerator in Romania, sTARTUp Day 2022 pitch contest in Tartu, Estonia, and Genesis StartUp Academy co-organized with Meta.
  • The round was co-led by Prague-based Credo Ventures, which recently led $2 million in a pre-seed round for London-based AI voice technology startup ElevenLabs, Warsaw-based Inovo VC, and Kyiv-based u.ventures, an investment fund, founded by Western NIS Enterprise Fund and investing in small and medium-sized companies in Ukraine and Moldova.
  • The new funds will help to hyper-scale existing CEE markets, establish a presence in SEE, hire critical senior talent in the team, and continue to develop the AR and VR-based curriculum.
