Austrian VC fund Speedinvest has announced its lead investment in konfetti, a German startup. The company raised €2 million in the seed round to become the go-to booking platform for local courses and team building, Silicon Canals writes.

  • Launched in 2021 by Tobias Fezer and Wolfgang Mauer, konfetti is building a platform to find and book local workshops, courses, and events. The platform offers over 3,000 events in 250 cities of Germany and Austria. According to the company, more than 750 partners already use the SaaS solution.

“Paper and pen, telephone and e-mail are no longer up-to-date and customer-oriented. We solve exactly that and by integrating the konfetti checkout, course providers can expand their website with a powerful online shop,”

Tobias Fezer explains.
  • Speedinvest, a Vienna-based early-stage venture capital firm, led the €2 million seed round. Launched in 2011 as a €10 million fund, Speedinvest now has over €1 billion assets under management and offices in Berlin, London, Munich, Paris, and Vienna. Recently, the fund started а new €3 million fund of funds.
  • The round also saw participation from co-investors Peak, Angel Invest, the Atomico Angel Fund, and platform expert Sameer Singh.
  • With the fresh funds, konfetti will be able to expand and introduce new features to the platform and its own SaaS products.
