Polish school of programming Coding Giants has secured €3.5 million in fresh funding set to strengthen its position in foreign markets. The Portfolion fund is the lead investor, Nunatak Capital participated, My Company Polska reports.

  • Established in 2015, Coding Giants is an international innovative edtech company that teaches children and teenagers aged 7-19 new technologies and computer programming. The curriculum combines group live lessons, where students code in familiar and popular environments, with interactive exercises.
  • Bootstraped until now, the company has over 120 stationary branches and offers online courses throughout Poland, as well as on 14 other markets across 4 continents. So far, over 100,000 students participated in the course, growing a yearly revenue of €3.6 million.

“Along with the development of the company, we want to enter foreign markets more and more dynamically. In Spanish-speaking countries, we have proven that we are able to translate our business model, developing at a very fast pace. Now we want to accelerate even more, which would be difficult to achieve without the support of external financing,”

the company comments.
  • This €3.5 million external funding came from two VC funds. The lead investor is the Hungarian Portfolion fund, which has other edtech startups in its portfolio, including Novakid and Codecool. The fund has over €400 million under management.
  • The Polish fund Nunatak Capital, specializing in the areas of data science and AI, also supported the funding. Previously, the firm provided funding for LiveKid, Quantee, and Mindgram.
  • With the fresh funding Coding Giants hopes to achieve its primal goal and become the world’s largest school of programming for children and teenagers.
