The widow of Apple founder Steve Jobs, American entrepreneur, philanthropist, and owner of The Atlantic magazine Lauren Powell Jobs has paid a visit to Ukraine. According to the Presidential Office of Ukraine, Lauren Powell Jobs, together with The Atlantic editor Jeff Goldberg, columnist and historian Ann Applebaum, had a meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

Lauren Jobs spent three days in Ukraine

During the meeting with the President of Ukraine, Lauren Powell Jobs discussed countering Russian cyberattacks at the start of the full-scale war, as well as further involvement of Ukrainian inventors and IT specialists in the fight against invaders, in particular, in projects related to drones.

As the adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Serhiy Leshchenko, informed, the conversation with the president will soon be the main topic of The Atlantic issue, while other talks were related to the guest’s involvement in charity projects.

“As a private person who does not put her life on display, Lauren Jobs did not advertise her trip. Although, after the first publication in The Atlantic, it can already be talked about. This visit was a brave act for the billionaire, considering that not many male politicians dare to visit Kyiv these days. She travelled half the world from Palo Alto, Silicon Valley and broke the rule of international leaders who do not stay in our capital for more than 12 hours. Lauren Jobs spent almost three days in Kyiv, heard air raid alarms dozens of times, and met with the country’s leaders,”

Leshchenko said.

Interestingly, before the start of the meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, Lauren Jobs had her phone taken away, because according to security rules, you cannot bring any gadgets, including iPhones, into the premises where the president is staying.

The Atlantic has already published a part of the interview with the president of Ukraine. The article reiterates why the supply of weapons to our country is a matter of global security and a rational decision for Americans who do not want to personally face the choice, “whether to send their children to fight to save their homeland or not”.
