Headquartered in New York City, AlphaSense, a market intelligence software startup, announced the raising of $100 million in a Series D round to launch of new generative AI capabilities. The investment was led by CapitalG, Alphabet’s independent growth fund, and existing investors.

  • AlphaSense’s AI-based technology aims to help make smarter business decisions by delivering insights from an extensive universe of public and private content. AlphaSense is used by over 3,500 customers and employs over 1,000 people across offices in the U.S., U.K., Finland, Germany, and India. To date, the company announced the launch of Smart Summaries, its new generative AI tool.
  • In June 2022, AlphaSense raised a $225 million Series D investment from Goldman Sachs and Viking Global Investors. The company became the fifth unicorn in the region, valued at $1.7 billion.

“This investment from CapitalG means for me the validation of our leadership in AI-driven search capabilities for the business world. Over the past 10 years, we’ve been building and fine-tuning our AI tech stack towards precise and nuanced understanding of business and financial language, while building an unparalleled collection of premium business content across thousands of trustworthy sources,”

Jack Kokko, the CEO and founder of AlphaSense commented.
  • The US-based CapitalG, Alphabet’s independent growth fund, led the round with participation from existing investors, including Goldman Sachs and Viking Global.
  • The investment will fuel continued deployment of AlphaSense’s advanced AI capabilities, including generative AI that speeds up the research process for business and financial professionals. Also, the new capital will further AlphaSense’s capacity to make strategic acquisitions.
