PVcase, Vilnius- and Kaunas-based solar project design software provider, has acquired the US Anderson Optimization, a developer of power system modeling and optimization software, for an undisclosed amount. The deal will enable PVcase to support Anderson Optimization’s expansion in Europe.

  • Established in 2018 by David Trainavicius, PVcase provides an approach to utility scale solar layout design. The company focuses on automation and accuracy from the very earliest stages of planning, incorporating 3D topographical data points to simulate the actual location of the solar plant. Currently, PVcase has over 100 employees serving customers in more than 70 countries.
  • Anderson Optimization was founded by Jake and Eric Anderson, and develops power system modeling and optimization software for renewable integration. The company works with solar, wind, and battery developers across the US and abroad to efficiently bring more renewable energy onto the power grid.

“Solar software incompatibility might seem like a technicality to some. But in our work across 75 countries, developers and asset owners say it’s emerging as a serious growth constraint. With this acquisition, developers can cut their data loss risk substantially. And for European developers, we’ll be able to cut the project design process from weeks to roughly 20 minutes.”

David Trainavicius, CEO of PVcase commented.
  • The deal will allow integrating PVcase software with Anderson Optimization’s, providing a comprehensive solution on a single platform. While Anderson Optimization’s software was not previously available in Europe, PVcase will launch it in the German, Spanish, and UK markets.
  • The PVcase’s leadership team will remain unchanged, while Anderson co-founders will continue in their respective leadership positions at that company.
