Estonian mobility company Bolt has announced its partnership with Starship Technologies, the world leader in autonomous delivery vehicles. The companies want to transform the way food and grocery deliveries are made, bringing customers a new level of convenience and sustainability.

  • Founded in 2013, Bolt is an Estonian-French mobility company that offers ride-hailing, micromobility rental, food and grocery delivery, and car-sharing services. Bolt is Estonia’s fourth unicorn, following Skype, Playtech, and Wise. In 2022, the company raised $709 million, reaching a valuation of about $8.4 billion.
  • Like Bolt, Starship Technologies is also an Estonian-born company that’s rapidly expanded its global presence. It is a robotics company building fleets of self-driving delivery robots designed to deliver goods locally. The company was founded in 2014 and is now headquartered in San Francisco, California.

  • As the result of the deal, Starship delivery robots will begin delivering with Bolt Food in Tallinn as a pilot programme, working in tandem with courier partners.
