Yuriy Kalinkin, Middle Software Engineer at the SoftServe company, died at the frontline of the Russian war in Ukraine. DOU reports this with reference to Olena Korsun, the director of the Dnipro development center of SoftServe.
- Yuriy joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a volunteer on the third day after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, on the first day of the formation of his brigade and battalion.
“We have lost one of the bravest, strongest, and most loyal heroes. Yura fought so well that he became one of the undisputed leaders of his unit. On his last combat mission, he took the first and fatal blow and at the cost of his own life gave others the opportunity to retreat,”
Olena writes.
- Yuriy has a family left behind: his parents and brother, so SoftServe launched a donation fund to support the family.
