Vienna-based startup Flinn has received a €2 million public grant from FFG, the Austrian Research Promotion Agency. The funding will be used to accelerate the growth of its NLP-based Software-as-a-Service platform, for the medical and pharmaceutical industry.
- Founded by Bastian Krapinger-Ruther, Markus Muller, and Hasib Samad, Flinn provides a SaaS solution for medical device manufacturers and the pharmaceutical industry. The platform enables medical device manufacturers to automate quality and regulatory processes to launch and operate high quality, compliant products efficiently, as well as reduce complexity and cost incurred by the new EU’s compliance framework Medical Device Regulation.
- According to Flinn, its initial product will focus on AI-enabled data collection, evaluation and reporting. To date, in late 2022, Flinn received €1.8 million in a pre-seed round co-led by Speedinvest and SquareOne.
- Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), the national funding agency for industrial research and development in Austria. Its aim is to strengthen domestic companies to remain competitive both nationally and internationally.
- Flinn will spend the grant to further expand AI capabilities with a particular focus on Natural Language Processing (NLP) to follow-up actions related to risk assessments, products, and processes.
