Bucharest-based healthtech startup Zitamine Nutrition has secured €350,000 in a fresh investment round aimed at Eastern European markets expansion. The round was joined by significant investors V7 Capital, Cleverage VC, and The Mavers Ventures, as well as several angels from the Bravva Angels community, Start-up.ro reports.

  • Founded in 2021, Zitamine Nutrition is a personalised nutrition service offering premium vitamin and supplement subscriptions across CEE. The company combines technology and medical expertise to respond to unique needs of each customer, who answered a special questionnaire developed and tested by healthcare experts.
  • Zitamine’s proprietary algorithm transforms this data into a personalised nutrition profile. The company also carefully researches and selects natural vitamins, and buys them directly from manufacturers for the best quality affordable. Later, the team packs them in sachets containing daily doses and deliver them each month at the customers’ doors.

“We invested in Zitamine for two main reasons. Firstly, because we trust the Zitamine team through its two co-founders, and appreciate the methodical approach they take in building a complex business. Secondly, for the strong technology component, which is increasingly present in global healthcare services but still underutilized in Romania,”

Ilinca Paun, founder of Bravva Angels, commented to Start-up.ro.
  • The round saw participation from prominent Romanian investors such as V7 Capital, Cleverage VC, and The Mavers Ventures, who recently invested in another Romanian startup Unison. Additionally, several individual investors from the Bravva Angels community also joined the round.
  • Zitamine plans to spend the fresh funds in improving the customer referral algorithm and the experience on the platform, with the purpose of exceeding the threshold of 10,000 active customers.
