Aiven, a Helsinki-based open-source cloud data platform, has announced the acquisition of EverSQL, a database optimization software vendor. This acquisition aims to integrate EverSQL’s capabilities into Aiven’s platform.
- EverSQL was established in 2019 by Oded Valin and Tomer Shay. Its main goal is to transform and automate database performance analysis – through the use of AI – to speed up applications and free up time for innovation. More than 100,000 software engineers in 90 countries use the solution.
- Founded in 2016, Aiven builds tools for developers using open-source technologies to manage data in the cloud space. The company provides services like PostgreSQL, Kafka, and M3 on all major clouds. In May 2022, Aiven raised $210 million in Series D from Eurazeo.
“In the first half of 2024, we will offer customers several new features that deploy EverSQL’s AI-powered engine, including query optimizations and index recommendations. We will expand our capabilities later in the year to include monitoring and alerting, supported by automatically generated optimization insights that are quick and easy to understand and implement.”
EverSQL’s team shared its future plan.
- The deal details were not disclosed. Integrating EverSQL’s AI-powered optimization engine into Aiven’s open source platform means that Aiven customers will benefit from automated, personalized, and actionable insights to help their data architecture.
