Noice, a Helsinki-based live-streaming platform designed for gamers, has raised the closure of its $21 million Series A funding round. The company is supported by entrepreneurs and investors from companies like Unity, Supercell, and Wolt.
- Noice was founded in March 2019 by Jussi Laakkonen, Jenni Wilson, Jaakko Lukkari, and was officially incorporated in August 2020. It is a multiplayer game and livestreaming platform that integrates viewers into gameplay as active participants. Recently, the company started the Closed Beta.
- Noice has a global team of 70 people from Finland, the UK, the US, Ireland, Denmark, Italy, Croatia, Hungary, and South Africa. While Helsinki serves as the core with 50 team members, approximately 25% of the team has a background with Applifier, from its startup phase through the post-acquisition period at Unity.
“We built Applifier’s 250 million MAU strong cross-promotion network for Facebook game developers to let developers exchange players to the tune of over 500.000 users perday. We built Applifier’s Everyplay game replay sharing platform to help mobile players discover games through replays shared by their friends of their best gaming moments across over 5.000 integrated mobile games.”
- The startup raised funding by entrepreneurs from Unity, Supercell, and Wolt. Among them are Mikko Kodisoja (Supercell), Ilkka Paananen (Supercell), Miki Kuusi (Wolt) and Riku Mäkelä (Wolt). The funding round also saw participation from investors such as Sedona Holdings (led by Bret Terrill), Team Builder Ventures (led by Steven Lurie), Bitkraft (led by Jens Hilgers), and F4 Fund (led by David Kaye).
- Noice plans to use the funding to boost its platform promotion and expand its team, catering to the gaming, creator, and developer communities’ mutual benefits in a positive-sum, open ecosystem.
