Russian military personnel are purchasing the Starlink terminals in the Arab countries to use them in the war against Ukraine. This is evidenced by radio intercept records published by the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

In the records, russian occupiers discuss the possibility of acquiring the Starlink terminals: “The Arabs bring everything: wires, Wi-Fi, routers…” says one of the invaders. According to him, the cost of one terminal is 200,000 rubles [about $2,190].

Earlier, Elon Musk, the owner of Starlink, categorically denied that the terminals were sold to Russia directly or indirectly. SpaceX, which is also owned by Elon Musk and operates the Starlink satellite communications network, has also denied that it has any official dealings with the russian government or the russian military.

According the official statement, the Starlink company doesn’t operate in russia, and the company has never sold or shipped equipment to russia. However, reports from the Ukrainian military personnel indicated that the systems were massively used from the territory previously said to be unavailable.
