Perfat Technologies, a Helsinki-based food-deeptech company, has announced the closure of its €1 million seed funding round. It was led by Nordic Science Investments and supported by Helsinki University Funds and other investors.

About Perfat Technologies

  • Perfat Technologies is a health-based technology company that develops fat-management applications based on healthy vegetable oils. Its technology enables broader use of healthy vegetable oils, such as rapeseed or sunflower oil, previously limited in food production by their lack of techno-functionalities.
  • Additionally, it offers a healthier and more sustainable alternative to traditional solid fats such as butter, palm oil and coconut oil, promising to enhance the nutritional and sensory qualities of food products. The startup also claims that its solution enables food products to retain their familiar taste and texture profiles while significantly improving their health profile.

Investment details

  • Finland’s Nordic Science Investments, a capital investment fund specializing in university spin-out companies during pre-seed, seed, and Series A funding rounds, led the current round. Recently, it announced the first closing round for the €60 million fund for deeptech spin-out startups from universities across the Nordics.

Perfat is opening a new frontier in healthy and sustainable food, building on its groundbreaking technology and team comprised of seasoned experts with a shared passion for revolutionizing the food industry.
