Localazy, a Brno-based localization startup, has informed AIN about its expansion into Poland, strengthening its position in the CEE markets. The startup aims to support local companies in their global expansion and scaling efforts.

  • Founded in 2020 by Václav Hodek, Localazy provides easy l10n (localization) and i18n (internationalization) solutions for NGOs, foundations, businesses of all sizes, and global communities, including machine translation, multilingual marketing tools, and quality assurance services. Currently, the company operates in North and South America, Africa, Asia, and some European countries.
  • Among its clients are such companies as ROUVY and Scaleway. Some non-profit and social enterprise platforms like Plastic Bank, Donar Online, or CARE also use the Localazy platform. In 2023, the startup received €1 million funding from JIC Ventures, Garage Angels, and 12Bullets, reaching the value of €4.5 million.
  • The platform combines AI, experienced translators, and experts from local markets, and is accessible through both subscription and pay-as-you-go models. Its main goal is to help clients reach their target markets through local languages. The company wants to support the fight against language discrimination and ensure equal access to information for all people in the world.

The startup also added that expansion to the Polish market allows to support local businesses in their goal to reach their target markets through local languages, as, according to Localazy, only €380 million people speak English natively in the world, and 75% of consumers prefer shopping on websites available in their native language.
