The Espoo-based VC firm Vendep Capital has led a €1.8 million seed round for Claimlane, a Copenhagen-based startup specializing in returns and claims management for brands and retailers. The funding aims to support Claimlane’s expansion in both the UK and mainland Europe.
- Founded in 2019, Claimlane provides an end-to-end Returns Management System (RMS) that streamlines the returns and claims process for retailers and brands. The startup focuses on optimising complex back-office workflows that serve both B2B and B2C requirements, different return types, and all channels and markets.
- According to Claimlane, it addresses a pain point in the industry: the reliance on spreadsheets and emails to manage returns, faulty products, and delivery issues. It also aim to automate communication and processes throughout the entire value chain.
Investment details
- The round was led by the Espoo-based Vendep Capital, a B2B SaaS specialist VC operating in Nordics and Baltics. It backs early-stage software entrepreneurs. In March 2023, Vendep Capital invested a €2 million in another Danish startup, PatentRenewal.
After seeing what the Claimlane team has achieved in Denmark, we are excited to support them in their global expansion. Customer-centricity and ambition are driving forces in this team, so we look forward to seeing their vision for the B2B return handling space come to life,
Timo Felin, Investment Director at Vendep Capital, commented.
The funding will support Claimlane’s plans for international expansion, particularly across Europe and the UK. Claimlane has already opened a new office and secured its first UK clients, including FFX, The Hut Group, and Cult Furniture. The funding will also deepen the integration of the platform into brands’ back-end systems, further automating processes and enhancing efficiency.
